Climate
The Maldives has a tropical climate with warm temperatures year round and a great deal of sunshine. With an average temperature of 31*C and an average minimum temperature of 26*C there are only minor variations in daily temperature through out the year.

The hottest month on an average is April and the coolest December. February is the driest with December to April being relatively dry. The Maldives is in the equilateral belt and therefore severe storms are rare.

Clothing
Dress is casual. Light cotton clothing is recommended. Except on special occasions such as important business meetings, casual clothing is the norm. If you are on holiday, besides T-shirts and shorts, beachwear is the only clothing that you would require. Dress modestly when visiting inhabited islands. Nudism is prohibited.
