Diving Resorts Maldives | Scuba Diving in Kurumba Maldives

Kurumba Maldives is one of the premier diving resorts in the Maldives, located inside the Atoll and is surrounded by wave breakers which allows for snorkelling right around the island. With generally low levels of current and a quality House Reef in turquoise waters, snorkelling here is an enjoyable experience. The island’s House Reef is a vibrant ecosystem and invites exploration both in the lagoon and outside on the reef.

The top of the Kurumba House Reef is approximately 1-2 metres deep and slopes down to 10 – 30m (80m on the south side) from the edge to the sandy bottom below. Progressing a little at a time, you will discover the wonders of the coral reef: millions of years of coral growth forming an island that teems with life both above and below the waters contributing to an enchanting Maldives scuba diving adventure.

	Diving Centre

		Euro Divers offers diving at Kurumba Maldives and many of the best dive sites in the region are within a 5 -30 minute boat trip from the resort. Dive sites to explore include Manta Point, wreck dives and some of the best drift dives in The Maldives. The dive centre is fully equipped with state of the art dive gear and nitrox. 	Diving Courses

		Euro Divers offers a selection of internationally recognized PADI dive courses. Whether you are just beginning, or are venturing into higher level certification, the Dive Centre is able to design a schedule around your holiday.

	Diving For Kids

		While at Kurumba, children can enjoy an introduction to the amazing underwater marine life of the Maldives. The dive centre offers SASY (Supplied Air System for Youth) Dive for children between the ages of 5 and 7 years. This is a dive experience in the shallow lagoon with an instructor who is trained to provide this unique youth diving experience. For children between 8 and 9 years, a Bubble Maker programme is available to provide a real scuba dive experience in the Kurumba Maldives lagoon or on the Kurumba Maldives house reef with a maximum depth of 2 metres.

	Discover Scuba Diving

		For those that have always wanted to test the waters, but are not sure if diving will be “their thing” Discover Scuba Diving is an excellent trial diving experience. It includes a short introductory course, followed by a shallow water dive in the lagoon. The highlight of Discover Scuba is a house reef dive or shallow boat dive in the afternoon to hone your newfound skills. Discover Scuba Diving is available most days on a request basis and is available for adults or children 10 years and over.

	Snorkeling

		The Kurumba Maldives lagoon is surrounded by wave breakers that reduce waves and currents which makes it excellent for snorkeling. With an average depth of 1 – 1.5 metres, it is easy to find small coral outcrops with a variety of marine life. Outside the wave breakers, there is a greater variety of coral reef, which is home to varied fish and sea creatures, including sting rays, turtles, a vast array of colourful fishes. 		The coral reefs of the Maldives are home to a huge variety of marine life and some of the different species have distinct preferences of location that they choose to call home. Our guided Snorkelling Safari will take you on a journey to discover what lives on and around at least two rich coral reefs.
