Groups - Terms & Conditions

1. All Conferences, Banquets and Functions booked at Kurumba Maldives by the Client shall be subject to the following terms and conditions.
2. A booking will not be valid until both the client and the hotel have confirmed it in writing, any deposit or payment in advance of any charges requested by the hotel has been paid and a receipt sent to the client. Unconfirmed bookings are not guaranteed.
3. On any change to the original numbers booked with the hotel between the date of the booking and the actual date of the function, the hotel reserves the right to relocate the function to suit the final numbers confirmed, and a supplement may be charged to cover the additional cost of the new venue (if any).
4. Any increase in numbers above the original agreed figure over 15% should be intimated at least 4 days prior to the function. This will be accepted only at the discretion of the management.
5. The client may cancel or amend the booking up to 30 days before the contracted day of arrival without any cancellation fees being due, with the exception of the deposit. Cancellations or amendments must be made to the hotel in the first instance by telephone, followed by written instruction by the client, sent by recorded delivery.  Bookings cancelled or amended 30 days or less before the contracted date of arrival at the hotel will be subject to full meeting room charges less any amount recovered by the hotel for re-letting the meeting rooms.
6. Kurumba Maldives reserve the right to withhold or withdraw credit facilities at any time, without notice.
7. Should any client query part of an invoice, he should pay the undisputed balance of the sum owed on the date it is due, and the remainder once the query has been resolved.
8. Full payment for all conference, banqueting and group accommodation is due no later than 7 days prior to the event, (14 days for wedding receptions), unless otherwise agreed in writing to the client by the hotel.
9. If fewer persons are served than what is designated in the guarantee, you will be charged based on the number of persons designated in the guarantee.
10. For plated events, we can be prepared to set and serve 3% above the final guarantee. Should your attendance exceed the set number given, additional Food & Beverage and services will be subject to availability. Should no guarantee be received by the above date, your expected attendance number will be come your guarantee and all charges will be based on that number.
11. For Buffets and all other functions the resort will cater to 15% above the Guaranteed figure, all other terms and conditions remain similar to the above.
12. Pro-forma invoices will be issued on request.

ADVERTISING

• All advertising material for functions open to the general public must be shown to and approved by the hotel prior to use, and written permission must be obtained before using any of the Kurumba Maldives/ Universal Enterprises names or trademarks.
• The client may not use any property or area of the resort whether inside the Conference hall or outside for Branding or Advertising without consent of the resort.

CLIENT’S USE OF HOTEL
The client and persons attending the function shall:

• Comply with all licensing, health and safety and other regulations relating to the resort.
• Not carry out any electrical or other works at the hotel, including amplification and lighting, without receiving written consent from Kurumba Maldives.
• Not bring any dangerous or hazardous items into the hotel, and should  remove any such items promptly when requested by the Resort Management                        
• Not consume food and/or drink at the hotel, which has not been supplied by the resort.

CANCELLATION BY KURUMBA MALDIVES
Kurumba Maldives reserve the right to cancel the booking: -

• If the Hotel, or part, is closed due to circumstances beyond its control.
• If the client becomes insolvent or enters into liquidation or receivership.
• If the client is more than 30 days in arrears with any payment to the resort
• To avoid a breach of these conditions, or
• If it may prejudice the reputation of, or cause damage to, the resort.
  In any of these circumstances, Kurumba Maldives will refund any payments made in advance, but will have no further liability to the client.

LIABILITY

• Unless negligence by the resort is proved, the resort will not be held liable for injury to persons or damage to property of any client or person  attending a function at the hotel
• The client shall accept liability for any damage caused by themselves, their guests or anyone attending their function, to Kurumba Maldives property including all fixtures and fittings. They will agree to pay the hotel, on demand, the amount required to make good or remedy such damage.
• If the client so desires he/ she may arrange insurance for the function to cover public liability, and loss or damage to property of the resort, and of persons attending.

GENERAL

• The resort will take reasonable steps to ensure that the requirements of each reservation are met to the best of their ability. The resort however reserves the right if necessary to provide alternative services of at least equivalent standard at no extra charge to the client.
• The resort shall not permit the use of its facilities for any other purpose than that stated on the reservation form, unless written consent is obtained prior to the event.
• Any alteration to theses terms and conditions must be in writing, and bear the signature of the client, and be signed on behalf of the resort.
• Employees of the resort are not authorised to make any representations unless confirmed in writing to the client.
• Although the resort has endeavoured to ensure all information in its advertising material is correct at the time of printing, it reserves the right to alter or withdraw any service, facility or amenity at any time, and without notice if necessary                                                                                       .
• This agreement shall be subject to Local Govt. Law.
